Back when the Dinosaur was unknown, only bikers went there. And the waitresses all looked like biker chicks….And they acted like them too.
Maybe that is cause they were…..
That is what built the reputation of the place
One of the original girls at the Dinosaur was Syndi Sochia
She passed this month..and it makes me sad even though I really never knew this person…
she represented something that is not there anymore
September 22, 2008 Syndi Sochia, 49, of Syracuse, passed away on September 22, 2008. Syndi was a very proud mother and grandmother and always spoke highly of them all. She missed her son’s wedding due to her untimely passing, but she had been so looking forward to it. She started her career at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que where she made many contacts and lasting friends. She spent much of her time promoting and supporting the local Blues bands. She was an avid motorcycle enthusiast with many friends throughout the motorcycle community. Syndi was a very giving person. She had her Dad move in with her when he was unable to care for himself. Even though she did not have much herself, she was the first to assist and help others. She facilitated many benefits to help raise funds for individuals in need, to help pay medical bills and to assist a grieving family after the loss of a loved one. She will be missed tremendously by all her friends throughout the community, especially those at OC’s, The Loop and the Italian American Veterans John Vendetti post where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Elise Sochia of Fulton; sons, Shawn and Michael Sochia both of Liverpool; her father, Edward Mundelien; and grandson, David. A memorial service will be held Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park St. Contributions can be made to help the family in care of John Venditti Post #1 c/o Russ Bromfield Commander, 500 Danforth St., Syracuse, NY 13208; 315-424-0161.
