Ok were not gonna be an outlaw club or a 1% club. Were just a group of motorcycle enthusaist that want to ride together. I want to know would the name disciples of anarchy be to close to sons of anarchy or would it be alright to use. I already looked it up and nobody is using it. we ride american motorcycles and thats all.

Honestly, I think that this name is TOO close. You guys need to come up with a name based on something in your town, like a symbol or a figure, or a special event that happened.

I agree with first answer it is too close to the show name. Plus, it sounds a little like an outlaw name. I think you should come up with something totally original that really represents the uniqueness of your group!

To start your own club is a lot of hard work. You need to meet with and come to an agreement on how and where your going to ride with the dominate 1% club in your area. You will probably be told that you need to join the local Confederation of clubs and start out as a riding association. After a lot of hard work and participating in in everything that you can, then you might be able to move up to an M/C. If your not willing to do what it takes to become an M/C, I would suggest that you and your friends just enjoy riding the roads together without any patches or club affiliation.

Restricting your membership to American made bikes exclusively should be the basis for the club name. Dumb and Dumber, The Misled, Bored Riders, The Unskilled.

Have you ever heard of the First Amendment? Federation of Clubs? Dominate 1% club? what grandiose nonsense. These organizations are a bunch of nothing. Call yourself anything you want, as long as it isn’t copyrighted or trademarked. “Disciples of Anarchy” sounds like a parody, but if it turns your crank, go for it.

Listen to BFL if you want to live a happy, healthy life. Listen to Buster if you are looking to collect on your insurance.

The word,”Disciples” is not a wise choice, there are already groups using that name or some variation of it.
You probably won’t have any trouble if you form a Riding Club. It’s a lot less complicated than forming an MC and having to jump through hoops, and you can have a less formal group.

If you are going to wear a back patch you need to become educated in motorcycle traditions and the way things are done where you live.

One night, when I first started riding, a large biker called on me and my friends at the place we hung out. We were not a club and we didn’t wear patches, but he made sure we understood how things worked in our town. We didn’t discuss the First Amendment with him.

I agree with Buster, you shouldn’t need to jump through any hoops to create a club. And judging from your screen name you are from Chicago (so am I) so I don’t think you’ll be running into any 1% riders who would take offense to your patches. My advice is to go ahead and make the club and have a good time doing it. I think the name is a little cheesy, you guys should go with something original and come up with your own symbol, have some fun with it. I’d be glad to join, I love riding… but does the fact that I drive a Ducati make me not eligible to be in your club :(

Disciples already roam your neck of the woods. Unless your ready for whatever, I STRONGLY suggest you take a name that links you to no 1%’s out there.

If all you allow is American bikes, as a Vet, I salute you, but I would look to our founding fathers for inspiration.

How about, “The Thomas Paine Affair”?

Die Hard Patriots would get it.
