I’m thinking about building a rigid frame chopper. Not looking to throw every dime I have into one though, because I have other hobbies that take a few… but as a minimum, what do you think I’m looking at as far as $xxxx cash outlay to get all the parts I need. I’m not looking for the best motor or the nicest paint or the most intricately cut wheels. Just a stretched (4-6″) raked out (38-42*) frame, and a 96″ v-twin , and a 230-240 tire. This is just for cruising and street riding point a to point b, not for show. I would even consider using some used parts…
So when it’s all said and done, what do you think the minimum $ is it would take to build one?
yeah I know about jpcycles.com and they carry chopperguys frames but they don’t have the chopperguys frame I want. I’m 6′4 so I’d want one of their “tall guys” frames at the bottom of this page http://www.chopperguys.com/id27_decimus.htm I’d probably get the 5″ stretch w/ 240 rear tire. They don’t give a price for those frames though…
DON’T **** THE RICE

Things like this you can usually pick up used WAY less than you can build it. You can use the money you save and change it to suit your taste and still make out better.
