if i was going to build a custom chopper how much would it cost to get all the basic materials?
dump ATT !! phone service/8.95$ month better than Magic! & keep your old phone number..8.95$/ month

Hello… I think the real question is how much do you have to spend, a good starting price would be about $20,000 or OCC could build you one for around $50,000….
A new motor will set you back about $10,000 or more for a start, anyway as for me i would be checking out motorcycle salvage yards for parts and do the welding and wiring my self…
A paint job can run you as much as $3,000 but for me about five cans of spray paint for about $25 will look just as good if you take your time…
Well, lets see, step one, BUY a chopper mag. Step two, call the various companies listed for all the items you need advertised in the magazine. Step 3: add in shipping costs for the items. Step 4: build to your hearts content. Step 5: spend a day or so down at your states DMV to get it registered Step 6:ride.
Or get some sheet metal, an english wheel and start fabricating but it may take a few years this way, but you can then design what ever you want and truly have a one off custom.
well I can get 105 inch evo motors from revtech for 3500 dollars,a ridgid frame from paucho for 700 dollars a 5 speed ****** for about 3,000 and so on.I built my panhead for 18,000 dollars. It all depends on what brand name parts you use! Delkron is gonna cost more than revtech for instance. Are you going to buy a motor or buy the parts and assemble it yourself? How much are you going to source from junk yards? [a ridgid frame can be got from a boneyard for about 200 bucks] A mustang tank or sporty tank from a boneyard about 50 bucks. Get some catalogs and and tally up your parts list.
Built mine form a crashed bike.Spent about 10K.Good way to get a cheep motor and trans.Sold off extra parts to offset price.
Depends on what equipment you are wanting to use. A good starting price would be about $15,000. I thought about doing that for months, starting in my head with something just basic, but by the time I got down to where I wanted to pull the trigger the price had jumped up considerably. A few more dollars here for a better engine. A couple of bucks more for the soft tail frame since I am a bit older. A bit more for the smooth lines with the controls inside the handlebars…It all adds up, and really if you are going to build it yourself, are you really going to settle for anything less than what you want? I couldn’t, so I bought something cheaper until the right frame and motor combination come along. After that it is a different story.
If you have to ask, you’re not ready to build a bike. Start with a kit: just google for “chopper in a box” and you’ll find plenty of companies willing to sell you complete kits - engine, frame, even down to the oil for the forks. Just add paint. Prices range from 12 to 20 thousand USD. Before you start, go to Wolfgang Publications and order books. You have a lot of reading up to do.
When you’ve built one of those, you might, just might be ready to mix-and-match bits and pieces from various sources.

Unless you opt for the optional parts and paint then it will be different.
sheesh
